Wood & Water Developments (formerly Element Eco-Design) has teamed up with a great group of bioregional sustainability leaders to host their 5th PDC. In this workshop they will focus on how to apply Permaculture Design principles and strategies to natural, social and business systems.
Gordon Hiebert & Jana Macnab of Wood & Water (formerly Element Eco-Design) have been practicing and teaching Permaculture in the Okanagan for the past 10 years. This will be their 5th Permaculture Design Certificate they have led. Gord & Jana provide a friendly learning environment with a mixture of hands-on and classroom sessions to facilitate a high quality, enjoyable experience.
What is a Permaculture Design Certificate?
A Permaculture Design Certificate is a 72 hour (12 day) course based on the work of Bill Mollison in the book Permaculture: A Designers Manual.
Gord & Jana have updated and added to this material from their personal experience, extensive research and collaboration among colleagues to ensure students are getting the most current, relevant, high-quality information possible.
With that being said, the layout of the course curriculum is unique. As designers, Gord & Jana made modifications to represent how practitioners actually apply this system on a daily basis. This allows students to learn design principles and methods while continuously working through ‘real-life’ designs in a logical manner.
In this course you will learn the following skills:
Permaculture Design Principles
Holistic Planning & Life Design
Water Harvesting & Stormwater Management
Green/Natural Building Techniques
Sustainable Food Systems (market gardens – food forests)
