Permaculture Workshop Series
Permaculture Weekend Workshop Series 2017
Apr 21-23, May 26-28, June 9-11
The Lee Road Community on Salt Spring Island warmly welcomes you to join us for a 3 weekend permaculture workshop series of learning, connecting, skill building, and dialogue. We are an unintentional and autonomous community of 15 adults and kids with members skilled in building, healing, arts, growing, and living well with the earth. We live on 10 acres overlooking the beautiful Fulford Valley with a variety of natural buildings and gardens, forest and pond.
April 21-23
The first weekend we will host an orientation to permaculture and opportunity to network with the other participants. Topics include: community living, affordable housing, food forests, and sacred economics. We will also tour our forest with Michael Nickels of Seven Ravens Permaculture Academy to understand how to manage the soil and plants for a healthy and productive natural forest.
May 26-28 and June 9-11
In the second and third weekends we will learn about and install a food forest. You will come away with a good understanding of how to read a landscape, mapping, planning earthworks, swales and terraces, planting trees and guilds, irrigation options, weather patterns, and forest ecology.
We encourage you to come for all three parts of the series to dive into the project and the community as each workshop builds on the next.
$650 for all 3 weekends ($750 after March 31st)
$250 each weekend if taken separately ($300 after March 31st)
Includes camping, meals, classes, and childcare! (max 15 people per weekend)
