It takes a teacher to teach. There are many permaculturists, and practitioners that write and teach YET not all of them are writers and teachers. Here’s where Matt Powers shine. He’s a teacher. A performer. A seed saver, and all round exceptional human. And he saw the need as many others have to have a READABLE permaculture book that helps to explain concepts and strategies at an elementary level without devolving into a children’s book (which he’s written as well). The Permaculture Student 2 compiles a host of solutions digested into their most simple forms and presented in this incredible book. In truth, the online version has been more useful than a hard copy as I can search through it. But I’ll let you decided, you won’t be disappointed with this book in your library. Seeking a Calgary-based or nearby person with good natural building and cob skills to partner with me in creating a medium-sized cob habitat wall for native, solitary bees (different than honey bees) for the City of Calgary this Summer or Fall near Fish Creek Park. I’m a Toronto-based artist and will need to hire someone to co-design the cob wall and to manage and lead the wall build portion of this project. This project will also involve 6-8 volunteers TBA. I communicate via email (sarahpeebles at gmail) and via tel. Here’s a sample of the general idea: Dwelling (Paint Branch Creek) 2015 – A Habitat Wall for Native Solitary Bees and Wasps, with sensory bee viewing cabinet, at The University of Maryland Arboretum Outreach Center. https://resonatingbodies.wordpress.com/art/amplified-habitats/audio-bee-booths/audio-bee-cabinets/
